Recreational All-Stars Program Overview
The GGSL Recreational All-Stars Program is an extension of the regular GGSL House league.  It is designed for player’s in age groups U10, U12, U15, and U19.  The Recreational All-Stars Program is a competitive program intended for the player who desires a more challenging soccer environment than that found in the GGSL House league.  The program focuses on developing players to learn new techniques and skills in an environment of fun and learning while promoting the values of teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Players must be GGSL House Program registrants and must participate in competitive tryouts to make a team.  The program is run parallel to the House league during the spring and summer from May - July each year. Players ages run from 9 to 19, depending on date of birth (see our Player Eligibility and Age Matrix pages for additional information). We will have teams in each of U10, U12, U15, and U19 age groups based on the number of registrants.

There have historically been 2 teams at each of the U10, U12, U15, and U19 age groups.

Tryouts

Tryouts are held early each spring in the late April / early May time frame.  The purpose of tryouts is to provide players a showcase for their abilities and a venue for coaches to evaluate their capabilities.

Practice

Players typically practice once a week in addition to their House practice and game. They play 3 or 4 weekend tournaments against other Recreational All-Star and travel teams from around Monroe County.
