Live Love Soccer
This great game of soccer by Barry Finkelstein (Publicity Coordinator, Coach and Dad)
Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I watched many soccer matches on TV, but there weren't many places to play. We moved to Rochester, NY in 1999 giving our daughter opportunities to experience the things we never were able to. Like, playing this great game of soccer!. Over the years I studied this great game and when my daughter started to play for GGSL when she was 5 years old. I coached her. I had a lot of fun coaching, I took a break because of other reasons, I continued to study the game. I earned my E License in coaching soccer October 2013. Today she is 15 and still playing, this past season I continued my coaching carreer and coached her U16 team and we went undefeated. what a treat it is to watch your daughter grow into a young lady and still play this great game of soccer.
Being a member of the GGSL board, I truly look forward to seeing all the girls on the field this summer! I am looking forrward to coaching a team this upcoming season which will be a lot of fun!
I love Soccer: By Mariana
I love soccer more than anything. I have been playing soccer for GGSL since I was 5. Playing soccer is truly amazing. I have learned so many foot skills, I have learned to have confidence in myself and strong communication skills. Playing soccer has given me a chance to meet new people and form long friendships and i get to play the sport that I love. Every year my coaches make me feel welcome and the team becomes like my second family. This is why I love playing soccer and playing for GGSL.

The first thing I can say about soccer, is it is awesome! I love soccer and have been playing for almost 5 years. Soccer is the best and most fun sport to play. I’ve learned so many new things, and my team and I get along so well together. That is what I think about playing soccer for G.G.S.L.
"My name is Marty Staub and I am Commissioner at Large and Risk Management Coordinator for GGSL. I started out my association with this outstanding community group as a fan watching my granddaughter’s games. Then moving to an assistant coach for my son and granddaughter’s team. Next I joined the GGSL Board of Directors and will coach this fall with my son-in-law for my oldest granddaughter’s team. This has become quite an experience for the Staub family as Shannon, my daughter-in-law, is GGSL President, my son Jeff is a U 12 coach and my son Marty is a U 10 coach. We have 3 grandaughters playing, soon to be 5! I have had the great pleasure of meeting MANY wonderful people working with GGSL, Board members, coaches, parents and of course the girls themselves. I encourage you to get involved in this tremendous group and I know you will have just as great an experience as I’ve had." -Martin Staub, Commissioner at Large
